Oct. 19 - 21 | The Largest Orange County Japan Fair Is Back in Costa Mesa!

One of my favorite events of the year is happening this weekend, The Orange County Japan Fair! I've been to this event since it ever started and have gone almost every year! (Check out my recap here) I just love Japanese culture and everything about it and it is just fun to get to try new food and check out merchandise and enjoy the performances.

The event is happening at the OC Fair in Costa Mesa and it just gets better and better every year. I haven't decided which day to go yet... but hope to run into y'all there! Check out more information below:

What:
Orange County's largest Japanese Festival is here! Come through if you're into Japanese culture or wanna be into it! There are gonna be Japanese cultural performances such as taiko performances, cosplay show, martial arts demonstrations and more! And of course...there will be JAPANESE FOOD!

When:

  • October 19 (FRI) | 5:00PM-11:00PM
  • October 20 (SAT) | 12:00PM-10:00PM
  • October 21 (SUN) | 10:00AM-5:00PM


Where:
OC Fair Event Center (Across from Orange Coast College)
88 Fair Dr, Costa Mesa, CA 92626

Parking costs $8
GATE 8 on Arlington Ave. Parking lot I & G
(Tip: Park across at Orange Coast College for free ;D)

Children 6 and under & over 65 are FREE

Recommendations:

  • Make sure y'all save some money by parking at OCC so you can spend that money on food or cool merchandise! It's only a few minutes walk away!
  • Food? 
    • Takoyaki Tanota - seriously some of the best takoyaki
    • Norigami has some bombtastic tacos with the shell made from fried seaweed! 
    • EGGHAUSTED makes delicious omelettes. GET IT!
    • Daikokuya has such flavorful broth, get their ramen!
    • Umami Katsu 025 - I haven't tried this place yet but their rice burgers look amazing
    • Tenkatori for juicy Japanese fried chicken (karaage)
  • Admire all the cool merchandise that is sold there! 
  • Check out the concerts and performances. There is also Arcane Maid Cafe if you're into that!
  • Bring cash cash cash
