OUR LUNCH BEFORE THE FREE LA KBS KPOP MUSIC CONCERT

WARNING: THE FOLLOWING MESSAGE MAY BE TMI, TOO PERSONAL AND TOO GROSS (TOO MUCH INFO!)
ALRIGHT. SO I OWE THIS PLACE ONE. So Kev and I came here 2 Saturdays ago to grab lunch before entering the FREE LA KBS KPOP CONCERT held at the LA COLOSSEUM and this place was about 15 minutes away from that venue so it was convenient to eat here. I came up with this idea because I figured there would be long lines at the food truck at the kpop festival so I wanted to fill my belly up enough before entering the festival. The night before, I had a farewell dinner for a friend at a sushi restaurant. That was basically the only thing I ate all day that day. The morning of the festival, I suffered from a huuuuuuuge pounding headache that wouldn't go away, loss of energy, and even an upset stomach. I wanted to go to the festival early at around 10am too but just couldn't gather up enough energy to leave my house early. By the time I did, I met up with Kevin and he drove us to LA. The entire time I was feeling sick in the car. I came to the conclusion that what I really wanted to do was to throw up. I wanted to throw up so badly but just couldn't! We dropped by at a convenience store nearby the LA Colosseum and I took some Tylenol to relieve my pain. After that, we went to Cha Cha Chili which was about 15 minutes away. When we arrived, luckily, there was no one else parked in their (small) parking lot. I basically took maybe 10-20 minutes trying to throw up and during that time, two employees from the restaurant asked if everything was okay to me. They looked concerned and I felt grateful that they cared. Eventually I was able to throw up and felt extreeeeeemely embarrassed by it. IT WAS HORRIBLE. But after that incident, I felt so aliiiiiiiiiiiive again. The employee outside hosed down the mess I made and kept asking me if I was okay. I answered yes and Kev and I then entered the restaurant excited to eat. I was so relieved that I was then able to eat but was still so embarassed. Long story short, I really owe this restaurant for trying to make me feel better from my sickness and offering such good customer service. I also won't be eating raw fish for awhile. But anyways, Kev and I left a generous tip. ^___^

I HOPE I DIDN'T MAKE YOU LOSE YOUR APPETITE IF YOU READ THAT PREVIOUS PARAGRAPH.

PLEASE GO TO CHA CHA CHILI! THEY'RE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS GREAT! AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, THE FOOD DELIVERS PERFECTION ^__^

So what did Kev and I order?

  1. Kalbi Burrito
    1. Perfect mix of short rib meat and veggies and delicious sauce.
    2. It was not that spicy as I had hoped but you can add the spicy sauces that they provide such as Tapatio.
    3. The sauce that they put it had an "asian" type of sauce flavor (does that make sense?) and was a bit sweet like teriyaki sauce
  2. Kalbi Taco
    1. This was basically the Taco version of the burrito mentioned above
    2. Very delicious
    3. Good amount of short rib meat

This place offers Korean - Mexican fusion food that is a must try! I really want to try their super fries next time! The parking is SMALL (typical L.A.) but it is FREE! So, if it gets crowded then parking would suck. The size of the restaurant itself is quite small but cozy. We sat outside because the weather was nice and breezy. They also grill the meat FRESH outside!
