HARDCORE GUDETAMA EGG PORN @ TREEVILLAGE CAFE - SORAMACHI (TOKYO SKYTREE)

GUDETAMA CAFE (TEMP POPUP) AT THE TREEVILLAGE CAFE IN SORAMACHI MALL (TOKYO SKYTREE).

How to get to Tokyo Skytree:
  • Arrive at Oshiage Station
  • there are many lines that go here:
    • Tokyo Metro:
      • Hanzomon Line
      • Tobu Skytree Line
    • Toei Asakusa Line (I used this one!)
    • Keisei Oshiage Line
  • There should be a Skytree or Soramachi exit which is actually within the station. You don't need to go outside! Just go straight to the mall through the train station!
  • It was really difficult to find the cafe honestly so if you have trouble, just ask the information desk people! They speak English! "Gudetama Cafe doko desu ka??" is all you need!

JUST DRAGGING ALONG MY GUDETAMA BABY TO THE GUDETAMA CAFE IN TOKYO! IT'S LOCATED AT THE SORAMACHI MALL AND IS A TEMPORARY THEMED GUDETAMA CAFE! THE SORAMACHI MALL IS AT TOKYO SKYTREE (OSHIAGE STATION) AND IT'S WHERE THE GIFT SHOP FOR THE SKY TREE.

 GUDETAMA SENBEI (RICE CRACKER)!
THE PHOTO BELOW IS ON EVERY TABLE AND IT GIVES DIRECTIONS ON THE CORRECT WAY TO EAT THE GUDETAMA SENBEI. IT'S LIKE A SANDWICH! AND I THINK THIS IS ONE OF THE BEST MENU ITEMS! THIS WOULD BE SO GOOD AS BREAKFAST ON THE REGULAR!

 GUDETAMA ERRTHANGGG
GUDETAMA ICE CREAM FLOATS! NOTE TO SELF... DON'T GET AN OOLONG TEA FLOAT... IT TASTED STRANGE...
 GUDETAMA TAKOYAKI !!

AS YOU CAN SEE, I'M TEACHING MY GUDETAMA BABY CANNIBALISM ^__^

WHAT IS GUDETAMA ?! IF Y'ALL DIDN'T KNOW, IT'S ONE OF THE NEWEST SANRIO CHARACTERS AND I'M NOW A HARDCORE GUDETAMA FAN. I WENT TO THIS CAFE WEARING A GUDETAMA BACKPACK AND GUDETAMA SHIRT AND ATE EVERYTHING GUDETAMA! WHAT A DREAM COME TRUE...

"GUDE" MEANS TIRED AND "TAMA" MEANS EGG. SO... A TIRED AND LAZY HALF COOKED EGG IS BASICALLY THE BEST CHARACTER EVER TO COME FROM SANRIO (I DON'T EVEN LIKE HELLO KITTY). THIS IS A FUN AND UNIQUE CHARACTER AND THERE ARE SO MANY CLEVER MERCHANDISE THAT RESULTS FROM GUDETAMA! YAY!

This Gudetama Cafe was one of the better themed cafes I ate at in terms of food. Other places had a good theme and decor but the food was only photo-worthy, not taste-bud worthy. This cafe actually had a good and clever menu! The cafe is small though so not much seating. We were lucky to even have a seat available but we had to snag it right away before anyone else can get it. The best items I'd have to say are the Gudetama Senbei (Rice Cracker Sandwich thing) and the Takoyaki. Read the summary on the food below!

Kevin also wanted to give some input:
The cafe is very cute but very small. Unfortunately, there was no giant Gudetama statue outside to take pictures with. The food was delicious, but nothing out of the world. I enjoyed the sandwich thing a lot, especialliy after flattening Gudetama between the bread. As an overall themed cafe, it's lackluster in the atmosphere and theme with the lack of props, space, and designed food. However, Gudetama is absolutely adorable and I'd go here again. It's quite difficult to find if you are looking around the tower through the main entrance as you have to take an exit and walk into a different area. At least I know where to go now.

Dress up in your favorite Gudetama t-shirt, backpack, and slipper and head over! Don't forget your Gudetama selfie stick so you can snap a picture with ease!

In other words, Shit's cool, yo. Get your ass here.

FOOD RECAP:

  • Gude Sen (The Gudetama Senbei Rice Cracker Sandwich)
    • this was the best in my opinion!
    • you actually get an entire egg thats not fully cooked with Gudetama's face on it
    • eat it like a sandwich!
    • I love the piece of bacon they give you because it reminds me of the "Let me sleep" Gudetama when Gudetama uses the bacon as a blanket
    • the flavor reminds me of okonomiyaki because of the okonomiyaki sauce, mayo and the seaweed flakes
  • Gude Takoyaki
    • this was good too!
    • the takoyaki is not fresh though which means that it's not super hot. It's still warm though  and at least you wouldn't have any trouble stuffing your mouth with it
  • Gude Float
    • I wanted to order something unique so I got Oolong Tea Float. It's basically an Oolong Iced Tea with a scoop of Ice Cream. But... the combo wasn't so great...
    • Kevin ordered the Cola Float which tasted so much better. I stole a few sips ^__^
  • Gude Mitsu
    • I don't like red bean so it was alright.
    • They add a slice of mandarin orange (?) and it tasted like it could be from a can
    • overall this was whatevvvs
  • Gude Musubi
    • the taste of the musubi was very normal. Just an egg with rice.
    • it was very photo worthy though since it's basically the edible version of my backpack!
