WE ORDERED THE H5. BANH BEO CHEN

SODA XI MUOI (PLUM SODA) IS MY FAVORITE DRINK AT VIETNAMESE RESTAURANTS! MY BF DOESN'T USUALLY LIKE THIS DRINK BUT FOR SOME REASON, HE KINDA LIKED IT AT THIS RESTAURANT! MAYBE HIS TASTE-BUDS ARE GETTING USED TO IT ^___^
CUTE SALT & PEPPER SHAKERS

I LOVE THEIR MINI BIKE WITH THE FLOWER BASKET AS DECO!

So I've been kind of on a mission to introduce my boyfriend to Vietnamese dishes that he's never tried before. Of course he's had the ever so cliche Pho (beef noodle soup) and spring rolls and egg rolls before, so showing him something different & hoping that he'll enjoy is my goal! My bf is of Thai heritage so that's why (fortunately, I also do get to eat the not-so-cliche Thai dishes too ^__^).

One day I was craving Banh Beo. According to a google search, Banh Beo is, " (literally "water fern cake") is a variety of small steamed rice cake or rice pancake in Vietnamese cuisine." My mother used to make these all the time, especially when I was younger. However, she's getting old now and no longer has the energy to make these (I should learn!). I found a restaurant that serves Banh Beo and suggested it to my bf. I found this restaurant because one day the restaurant followed me on Instagram and I checked it out. Hah! Social Media these days....xD

Kev and I came here and were sat down really quickly. The restaurant was that not that crowded so there were plenty of seats. The waiters and waitresses were also really friendly and nice too. They spoke in Vietnamese to me though but I sometimes got confused whether I should order in English or Vietnamese because I'm not so used to ordering in Vietnamese. Anywho, we came here for the Banh Beo so we ordered exactly that! I also got my favorite drink: Soda Xi Muoi (Plum Soda) ! YUMM

We just ordered 1 order of Banh Beo and it came with 12 mini plates of Banh Beo. I wasn't too hungry so it was just enough for Kev and I to share 6 each! It was SO delicious and I love the crunchy pork rind on top of each. Now that I'm writing about it, I honestly want more. IT WAS SO GOOD! I noticed that Kev put a lot of fish sauce on his too ! Hehe I also tried to eat the Banh Beo with some Sate and it was interesting... but doesn't really go that well together. I guess the usual way to eat it (adding fish sauce on top) is the best way!

Bottom line: $6.50 for the Banh Beo Chen is a pretty good deal! I would totally come back here for this. They also have other Vietnamese dishes that are favorites of mine too! And as an after-meal boba run, I could just walk over to Craved Teahouse in the same plaza! Oh and my bf concluded that he loved the Banh Beo!
