CHIPOTLE IS BASICALLY HEAVEN WHEN "PORTION" COMES TO MIND. IT MAY BE A BIT PRICEY SINCE IT'S $5-$10 BUT IT'S SOMETHING THAT CAN DEFINITELY BE SHARED BETWEEN 2 PEOPLE (UNLESS YOU'RE SUPER HUNGRY &/OR GREEDY) OR FILL YOUR STOMACH UP FOR 2 ENTIRE MEALS (IT'S A BIG PORTION!)
It was lunchtime and breaktime between my bf's classes so we went to Chipotle with some of his friends! The line was long but fast. This is an assembly-line type of food join, similar to Subway, where you choose what you want inside as you go through the line during each stage (meat stage, lettuce stage, sauce stage, condiments...etc). Because of this style, the line goes pretty fast so don't fear if you see a line at any Chipotle store! In my opinion, this is not exactly a cheap lunch. My kind of cheap is equal to $5 or less. BUT, when you think about the portion, this place is a deal! The portions are huuuge for what you pay for, especially if you get the burrito or bowl!
I usually finish the portion by myself though because I'm a fatty like that... xD
Anywho, this time I wasn't that hungry so I got the steak tacos (3 tacos with steak) and my bf got the steak burrito. We loaded them all up with as much as we can and enjoyed a delicious, fullfilling, and satisfying lunch. I don't think you can ever go wrong whenever you choose Chipotle as your lunch (or dinner) destination!
Here are some tips that I have thought of or heard of for Chipotle:
- Kev & I always put the pre-sliced lemons that they offer into our H20 whenever we get water cups because...well, it tastes better!
- The water cups are not in a transparent cup so if you're willing to break the rules and get soda instead, no one will know...
- I used to do this all the time, whether the cup was transparent or not at different restaurants but now I don't do this anymore ^__^
- Get the sauces on the side to maximize your portions
- because they come in a cup, they usually fill up the little cup/container so you get more!
- must-do for guacamole!
- order a quessurito
- I heard this online awhile ago and it's basically triple or quadruple wrapped. WHOA
- it's a quesadilla wrapped around your burrito
- sometimes they will charge it as a burrito, but they may also charge it as two separate items: a burrito and a quesadilla so get your wallet ready!
