ASIAN FUSION DIM SUM MENU FOR THE SPECIAL DIM SUM EVENT

Spontaneously decided to check the Dim Sum Event at Seafood Cover #2 with Kevin! I think they have this event on Wednesdays every month...? every week...? I'm not sure but I'm glad I came!

When we got there this place was PACKED! It was so crowded but we were notified that the wait would be 30min or less for 2 people. Not that bad at least. Instead of calling out names they would give you a number and call out the numbers through a microphone. I thought this was genius since this allows the people outside to be able to hear their numbers!

When Kevin and I were finally seated, the rush overwhelmed me. So many waitresses were rolling their carts trying to convince us to get their dim sum dishes. I was really confused actually, because...where are the fusion dishes? That was the whole point of going there that night! We eventually got the chance to ask a kind waitress who grabbed us the special menu for the night. We were recommended to order one of EVERYTHING and we did (and more).

My impression of the food ranged from WOW I WANT MORE to EHH I COULD MAKE THIS AT HOME LIKE CAKE...

  • the best for me was the bacon wrapped shumai
  • the har gow w/ salsa verde tasted average. I mean, the har gow itself was delicious, but this was nothing special.
  • The paper wrapped chicken really confused me. WHAT PAPER? it should have been named foil wrapped chicken.... -___- and it was basically like a teriyaki chicken baked in foil.
  • the cajun noodles and the garlic clams were delicious, but again, it didn't seem special enough to me to be featured for dim sum night.

Overall, I feel like most of the items on the special menu is NOT worth getting 1 of each of because some of them are not as creative or delicious as I expected. Maybe my expectations were too high? The bacon wrapped shumai was not even on the special menu but that was SUPER DELICIOUS. I'd def get more of that!
